Echo: ChatGPT Ads conversions
Echo sends conversion events from your site to your OpenAI ads pixel, server-side.
How you set it up
- Paste an OpenAI API key into Settings > Security & Access as a Bearer Token connection.
- In Echo, open Destinations, click Add Destination and choose OpenAI (ChatGPT Ads).
- Enter your pixel ID. Validate-only mode lets you check events without recording them.
| What it sends | Events in batches of up to 250. Echo normalizes and SHA-256 hashes personal data (values that are already hashed pass through), converts money to minor units and carries OpenAI's attribution parameters. If OpenAI rejects a batch, Echo splits it to find the bad event. |

| Limits | Events older than 7 days are dropped on replay, which is OpenAI's window. ChatGPT Ads is a new platform, so expect this destination to change as OpenAI's API does. |

What every Echo destination does
- A per-destination event filter decides which events are sent.
- You choose the consent categories an event needs before it is sent. Global Privacy Control signals and bot traffic are handled per destination.
- Failed sends are retried, then held and replayed automatically.
- There is no "send a test event" button yet, and Echo does not yet compare what it sent with what the platform recorded.

How your data is handled
